Want to know what it means to be a king?
To know you’re the stop and the start of them things?
That talk is just talk, and not much it means,
Until you learn how to embody them things.

I used to want it a lot
Burdened by all of my dreams
But then it was never enough.
Mind always running with schemes

Didn’t know how to know what I got.
Don’t know how to live in my means.
Until the day its all lost…
you start to appreciate things

I started to change.
I started to sing.
I learned how to learn.
And how to refrain.
Was talking too much made a mess out of things.
Until I learned how to embody them things.

Building the team.
Changing the scenes.
Not just what I do, but WHO I AM BEING.
Filling the bag but saving some change
Learned how to stay focused on different things.

One at time,
Day after day.
I’m working with marble I’m chipping away.
Now I got the squad,
Now I found the way,
I’m living my purpose like everyday.

I pray when I eat.
I pray when I lay.
With every religion in every way.

To every name, don’t discriminate,
end of the day it’s all one and the same:

That’s guiding my path
The plans being made
My ancestors riding from cradle to grave.

That’s why I don’t trip, about what they say.
Cuz trauma and drama like chicken and eggs.

I’m lettin em heal,
They taking they time,
Don’t judge em cuz I know I had to take mine.
I been moving on.
I been on my grind.
A King who is strong, a king who is kind.

A king never hides
things I did wrong.
And then I’m accountable.
Then I move on.

Back to the focus of being of service,
Never let anything deter your purpose ✨

A true king is a conduit of the power of people.
A king is a servant to those in his kingdom; surrendering his life to a purpose higher than his own desires, fears, prejudices, and agendas…

But still a king is a (hu)man. And must be a whole man. One who cries, plays, loves, prays, and most of all, keeps wise counsel. I want to thank all the queens and royal beings that have shaped this king. And here’s to the King who had a great dream, may his spirit rise and may freedom ring! ✨🙌🏾✨~ @mazinjamal_
